Karter is just as cute as ever! He has a funny personality and is just a happy boy. He loves EVERYONE right now, and will go up to strangers for hugs (and food). I'm amazed at just how much he understands. He knows things like: "Get your shoes." "Want some lunch?" "Brush your hair." "Where's the toothpaste?", and so many more. As far as talking, he doesn't say too much. I think he finds he can get along well enough with the words, "Ma-ma" "Da-da" "Moo" and "Go." He's very fond of "Moo", which is great if someone asks him what a cow says, but doesn't work for much else.

THE BEACH!

We went out to the coast with some friends before all the warm weather was gone. It was a perfect day! We had a great time and Karter enjoyed the beach more now that he can walk.

Karter Walks!!

On August 3rd, during our vacation in Utah and Idaho, Karter had his first steps. He perfected his walking very quickly and now loves to walk everywhere. Also during vacation he learned, "Where's your tongue?", "Fold your arms", "Blow kisses", and "THREE POINTER!" (He puts his hands straight up above his head like a ref). He's just so cute and learning so much.

Happy Birthday to the Sauce!

Karter had a great first birthday! Grandpa and Grandma Arritt were up to visit for the whole week. We had a great time. We went to the Portland zoo and Rockaway Beach. For his birthday we went to Chevys (a great Mexican restaurant) where he was sung to and given both a sombrero and a bowl of ice cream. Later, we invited friends over for cake and ice-cream. We gave Karter his own little cake which we expected him to go crazy over, but he touched it very timidly and the only cake he got on his face was his mom's doing. We can't believe our little baby is 1 and turning into a little boy!

When will he walk???

Karter is loving to stand and walk around furniture. Pretty soon he'll be able to do it on his own!

Swingin' Karter!

Karter loves to swing!! Here he is on two different occasions- one was at Washington Park, and the other was in Great-grandma Greenwood's backyard during the Greenwood family reunion in June. He's just so cute!!

We had a great 4th of July!! We took Karter to his first firework show with some friends. He was tired and a little squirmy, but he loved them. There was a particular firework (a low, very sparkly one) that Karter would laugh at. He just thought they were hilarious and would laugh so loud. It was cute.
